I am big scooter club member of Taiwan ,
Maybe we can discuss the experience about modify
Xciting.
※ My English is not good, but I wil try to communicate as possible.
Here are some modified about transmission pulley by myself,
I hope can share with everyone.

1.fan plate
2.variator

1.fan plate:
left:original fan plate used 12000km ; right:original fan plate used 6000km (on my
Xciting now)
Both two fan plate are
Kymco original parts,
but you can see the track of belt have the most transmission zone.
2.variator:
left:original variator used 12000km ; right:original variator rollers track extra work used 6000km (on my
Xciting now)
3.rollers:
Dr. Pulley 28 x 22 size
※Note that the install direction.
4.springs:
5.driver spring:
Original driver springs and washers.
The 30% hardness driver spring on my
Xciting now.
6.clutch:
left:original clutch used 200km ; middle:original clutch extra Ferodo and Malossi ; right:Dr. Pulley new type Hit Clutch
You can see the Ferodo is lengther than others.
Dr. Pulley's new type Hit clutch ( with 4 clutch weight ),
I can adjust the cs and ps springs to get the higher performance I need.
7.clutch bell:
To improve violent shake when the
Xciting starts.

Testing...
The clutch bells with extra work to become rusty more easier.
Must to extra work,
Improving
Xciting is a long way to go.

The experience about modified transmission pulley.
●CVT transmission and gear-change bicycle transmission :
You can imagine the man ride a gear-change bicycle,
If you want to get fast when starts,you will use the smaller front gear and bigger rear gear.
When the bicycle speed become faster,
you will change the bigger front gear and smaller rear gear to arrive top speed.
In CVT transmission,
1. Engine likes the man who ride bicycle.
2. Belt likes the chain.
3. Total front variator assembly like front gear of gear-change bicycle.
4. Total rear pulley assembly like rear gear of gear-change bicycle.
More detail about point 3:
Inside of the variator (like smaller front gear) to administer the low speed zone,
Outside of the variator (like bigger front gear) to administer the high speed zone.
See the photo as below:
left:original variator used 12000km ; right:original variator rollers track extra work used 6000km
You can see the original variator can't use that.
1. Variator rollers track extra work can increase the range that rollers can use,
so the belt can be pushed outside at the high speed zone.
(like gear-change bicycle can use the bigger front gear.)
But it will loss the time to use smaller front gear at low speed zone.
2. Add washer to increase the length of boss,can make the belt to fall inside of variator.
(like gear-change bicycle can use the smaller front gear.)
But it will increase the fan plate and variator distance,
can't to use bigger front gear at high speed zone.
Point 1 and 2 seems conflict,but you can get high performance if you tuned well!
Making the 15 step gear-change bicycle becomes to 21 step gear-change bicycle.
In fact, the knowlage of CVT is not so simply.
Must consider the dimension of belt, time of rollers move, and centrifugal force...etc.
If you can spend more time to look, listen and learn,
I think you will get many experience!
